If you’ve never been to the Prince Resort Myrtle Beach, just find the famous Cheery Grove Pier and you’re there. These two landmarks are both owned by the Prince family who purchased the pier in 1965. The renowned Cherry Grove Pier receives its claim to fame as it reaches 985 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. When the pier was destroyed by Hurricane Hugo in 1989, it was rebuilt adding the two-story observation deck at the end providing an ideal location to gaze over the ocean. Along with providing some absolutely amazing ocean scenery, the pier is an extremely desirable place for fishermen and women of all ages. On any good fishing day, devoted anglers will be found patiently waiting for the big one to take their bait. In 1964, a world record was set as an amazing 1,780 pound tiger shark was caught from the pier. Though that is definitely not the norm, there are still some very nice catches made here. Cherry Grove Pier draws crowds as a terrific place for some serious family fishing and for those who just want to see the coastal sights from the observation deck. There is a small admission fee to enter the pier. While staying at the Prince Resort, you can easily watch for the less busy times to pop out on the pier for your attempt at making your own big catch.

A very nice feature of the Prince Resort in North Myrtle Beach is the daily housekeeping. Many of the condominiums and resorts do not supply this amenity and you’re left to take care of that yourself, making this a great plus. These condos really are a wonderful place to stay during your vacation with great service and amenities, convenience to all the area food, shopping, entertainment, pools and especially the beach. It’s also a nonsmoking facility.
