Many visitors to Myrtle Beach, SC make sure they include a stop at the Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Water Park every time they come. These parks are actually two separate attractions. One look at the Amusement Park will instantly bring back fond memories of time spent at the local annual county fair. And it’s the only oceanfront amusement park in Myrtle Beach.
The really nice thing is that it does not cost anything to enter the park. So if parents want to come in and just let the kids ride, they only pay for what the kids do. There are several rides that are fun for older kids and adults. Those include the Yo-Yo, Thunderbolt, the 110-foot free fall Sling Shot Drop Zone, Hurricane and the wooden roller coaster. There are some who love to ride these over and over. Then there’s the ferris wheel, South Carolina’s highest, that provides a time to relax and enjoy the spectacular view over the ocean.
The park is family friendly and most of the more than thirty rides at Family Kingdom are designed for younger children, mainly ages 3-10. They have bumper cars, go-kart tracks, some spinning rides and the Log Flume.
Family Adventure Water Park is a wonderful way to cool down on those hot days. Spend hours relaxing while floating on the 425-foot lazy river. Get an extra dose of water as you pass by the waterfalls. Then there are the more thrilling rides with a variety of water slides and a water flume with a 100 foot drop. The younger kids will be excited with the rain trees, kiddie pools, a waterfall and eight kiddie slides.
There are a couple of ways to purchase the rides at Family Kingdom Amusement Park. If you’re only planning on riding a few rides, buying the ticket are the best value. Individual tickets are $1.05 each plus tax and rides range from 2-5 tickets each. They also have various ticket packages depending on how many you need. Young kids who will enjoy most of the rides usually do better with the all-day wrist bands that are $23.50 plus tax.
Before deciding to buy individual tickets or unlimited wristbands, you might want to walk around the park first to see how many rides each person in your group will ride. Those who choose just a few will want to go the ticket route, while those who find lots of rides will probably need the wristbands. You’ll save a lot of money this way. Some of the local tourist coupon books may have coupons to help save on your ticket prices.
All-day Water Park tickets are $18.95. The best value tickets are available through the link below:
